Creme Caramel

One of my favourite all time dessert is creme caramel! The rich yet smooth creamy texture of the cream topped with a gooey sweet yet slightly bitter caramel, makes the perfect irresistible dessert! And the best thing about it is that it's so quick and easy to make.

You can make these in small plastic take away containers (Yes! They can go in the oven) and store them in the fridge as they make an excellent quick dessert for unexpected guests or just because you can! Just turn them over onto a dish when ready to eat and voila! Bliss!

Korilakkuma cake

One of my good friends requested a korilakkuma birthday cake for her birthday. In case you are wondering korilakkuma is rilakkuma's friend and they are both adorable bears. You might have seen these toys around as they are quite popular.

My friend wanted a fruit flavored cake, so I decided to make her a white chocolate mud cake with fresh strawberry buttercream! This buttercream was so irresistible that I think I ate most of it before I could even ice the Cake! Don't worry, there's more where that came from.

I decided to make her two identical cakes: one for us (of course!) and another for her family. She was a very spoilt girl indeed! But who shouldn't be spoilt on their birthday?

Hello Kitty Cake topper

What do you do when you want to personalise a cake but don't have time to make a cake? Make a Cake topper!

My colleague had asked me to make her a Hello Kitty birthday cake for her daughter, but unfortunately I was going away interstate that week. I didn't want to make a cake in advance and have it sit there for 1 week so I decided to make her a cake topper. It would last and can be used anytime.

Here is the Hello Kitty cake topper that I made.

Her daughter loved it and even wrote note me a thank you note! How sweet!

Peppa Pig Cake

This is the cake I made for Jacob, who's turning 3! He loves Peppa Pig. Might I mention he is so cute!! Once again it is the same chocolate mud cake with chocolate ganache. If you read my previous blogs, you will notice I use this recipe alot! It's my most popular flavor so far. This cake was challenging but at the same time fun!

Table Tennis Cake

This was a birthday cake I made for my brother in law. He plays table tennis!! Bet you couldn't guess that one!

It was made and ordered very last minute, but I think I did OK considering the amount of notice and equipment I had. It's the same chocolate mud cake that I used for the Despicable Me 2 Minion Cake but this time with chocolate butter cream. I don't know which I like better! They are both just as delicious!

Despicable Me 2 Minion Birthday Cake

I was recently approached to make a cake for a surprise 21st party. The lucky birthday boy was obsessed with Despicable Me at the time so what better cake to make than a Minion cake!! This was my first ever "commission" so I was super excited but also very nervous it would go wrong. Word of advice to those of you who would want to try this at home....DON'T.. nah just kidding! Just plan plan plan!! I overly underestimated the time it would take to make this cake. Whatever you are thinking...try tripling that time (that's because I'm super slow so maybe only double the time for yourself).

I made a chocolate mud cake that was super moist and filled it with whipped chocolate ganache. Yummmm!! The cake itself was pretty easy to make, just 3 layers of round cake and carving a curved top. For me, the hardest challenge was rolling the fondant out big enough to cover the entire cake. Since it was an awkward shape I had to use 2 layers of fondant because the first layer split and didn't go on as smoothly as planned. I also made a miniature version of the cake for the Minion - Haha! A cake within a cake! I call it cakeception! Once the cake was covered the rest was history!

Baby Eric's baptism cake

Congratulations to our newest edition in the family. Baby Eric had his baptism and now I'm officially a mother of the spiritual kind.
I made my nephew a red velvet cake filled with cream cheese and covered with chocolate ganache. Yummy!
With the left over cake cuts I made mini round cake bites dipped in ganache and covered with cream cheese icing. It's a simpler version of cake pops when u don't have the time and it's so easy and great for people who only want a bite size taste of my little sweet creation.
